Your original photo is so interesting that I hope you wont mind if I do a workshop version just to see how it looks like.
I crop left, right and top part to get rid of distracting elements, adjust contrast, color and frame.
I hope you find this useful, but your original photo is still very good and sharp.

I might be wrong. But I imagine this threatening sky approaching rapidly. I think the mood and light was darker than on your original shots.
I tried some work here. perhaps it could be easier if you try it with your original full size photo. Here is what I did with this one:
With Photoshop CS.
Enlarged by 1000 pixel to work more easily with it. Auto colors, contrasts, levels. Looked at the result. Than reduced luminosity by 30% increased contrasts by 10%.
Saved the image.
With Neat Image
Filtered and sharpend the image. Saved it again
With Photofiltre
Sharpened one more time
Reduced the size to 780 pixel.
Added border and title to enhance even more the dark mood.
Trust you will find this one constructive. Of course it would be better to work with your original shots. But this is just to give you the idea.
