(21690) [2008-09-08 12:44:47] | Hi peeps, Workshop as promised!
Thats better I had my usual software to use this evening.
Taking the original shot I cropped and re sized.
The BG was grainy and the flower not as sharp as I would like so I decided to enhance the contrast between the bee and the flower by blurring everything except the bee.
There was still too much going on in the BG so I over painted a large section to give what I hope is the feel of a water colour painting.
Gamma correct +20 lifted the light enough to see more detail on the bee, sharpened once and re sized
Added text and two lines just because I liked the idea :-)
Hope this is better than this mornings post. A lot softer but the bee is now clearer and more detailed.
TTFN regards Smurfie |

(17840) [2008-09-08 00:56:10] [3] | There are beautiful details to be seen on the bee, once you shine some light on it and that is what I did with Effects/Illumination/Lights.
Then of course the whole picture becomes OE, but I only cloned the bee back in your original picture.
I also sharpened, that may have been too much.

 Cropped around it | Janice
(27355) [2008-09-03 12:55:45] [3] | Hi Helen
Your rose seems to be facing to the right, so I've cropped around it top and left. I also removed as much of the tangled greenery at the bottom too.
I played a little with shadows and highlights in CS2, and added a small white border.
Now we can concentrate / see more on the flower itself and not the surrounding areas.
With flowers, if they seem to be facing a certain way, try and crop around them so they look like they have space to 'move into'.
It's just a quick work, but I hope you like it.
Cheers

On photo nr 3 (from left to right) we can still see leftovers of the BG - I "cleaned" them with the brush tool. |

Lassoed and resized the bottom two and lined them up.
Cropped top and bottom.
A lot tidier, don't you think?

 Natural framing 2 | Helkoryo
(21690) [2008-08-14 00:31:34] | | This was my second choice for the theme this week. I feel the image is more framed as we have the contrast between shade and sunshine, but the view in the centre of the gardens is a touch OE in my opinion. I would be glad to know what you think though. |
