Hi Helen
Your rose seems to be facing to the right, so I've cropped around it top and left. I also removed as much of the tangled greenery at the bottom too.

I played a little with shadows and highlights in CS2, and added a small white border.

Now we can concentrate / see more on the flower itself and not the surrounding areas.

With flowers, if they seem to be facing a certain way, try and crop around them so they look like they have space to 'move into'.

It's just a quick work, but I hope you like it.

I changed lens and put on my Canon 70-300 lens and zoomed in on this man. But he wouldn't keep still for me!!

I have cropped around DJ, removing the space behind his head. Then I cloned out some stray marks and then gave the image this border,

This is the photo I first worked on - and then realised I had already post it before!! So it was back to the drawing board.

I prefer this photo over the "Dinner Time" image.

I posted this photo earlier this year. Only I had flipped the original horizontally.

It was taken 1 second before the B&W one. There was a lot of quick action going on so I had my camera set on Burst mode!! You had to be quick!!
