Sorry, I just missed capturing Dawn in this photo. I think she must have seen me focussing in on her so she made a quick departure.
While this Buskers week was on in Auckland there were also road works going on in Queen Street and I was sorry for the buskers having to compete with their noise.
I wanted to see what would happen if I adjusted the curves for the overcast sky (to bring out more texture). It is much moodier now -- not a better view but perhaps an alternate one? I hope you like the result.
The old tree is a dead Macrocarpa tree, which is a native to Monterey, California, and is thought to have been introduced to New Zealand by miners who came here for the 1860s gold rushes.
As fully-matured trees, 40 years and over, they might reach up to 24 metres with diameter of 1.6 metres at their base.
