| Intro: | Hi, I'm Joe :-) I am 15 years old and hope to become a Biologist/Photographer when I leave university (that's if I get into uni) :-) I live in a largish town called Abingdon near Oxford which is renowned for it's history and the fact that the river Thames runs straight through it. A small group of lakes called the Radley Lakes are where at least 80% of my photos are taken - it is home to many insects (especially dragonflies such as the rare Clubtail), birds and mammals (we now have Otters living on the Thames!). Though currently we're battling against N-Power to keep them from being filled in with toxic waste from a nearby power station! They've already done so to two of the lakes! Photography has taken over my life from day one after joining TrekNature :-) I started off with a tiny Goodmans G-shot camera and then gradually progressed to a Canon Powershot S3 IS and finally to the Canon EOS 400D and a small array of lenses which I'm using at the moment. A lot of people think that my parents must be spoiling me by getting me all this stuff but actually I am paying for it all... my parents loaned me some money and now I'm paying it all off with a paper round. I should be out of debt by November :-) Joining this site brought me into the world of nature photography and so that is my favourite subject to shoot though I enjoy other photography too like portraits and events. Within nature I love to take photos of birds and invertebrates like insects and arachnids - what fascinates me most are the tiny lenses in the compound eye of an insect so as long as I can capture them, then I'm happy :-) My other interests include playing sports like football and tennis and also art. Photography and these Trek sites have made my life much better by getting me out into nature more, keeping me in contact with many nice people form all over the world and has even helped me overcome a horrible phobia that was threatening to keep me trapped in the house. So I am very grateful to all the members on TN and TL who have kept me going with photography, astounded me time and time again with their incredible photos and have taught me many, many things :-) If you are reading this and haven't yet joined then I really recommend you do! :-D Thankyou very much for reading this and I hope you enjoy looking at my photos.
