| Intro: | 'Death Smiles At Us All, All A Man Can Do Is Smile Back' - Gladiator. I love that quote. You want to know why? Because it is true. What can you do in the face of death? Everyone dies, it's inevitable. Oh sure, you could make a pact with a god or goddess, maybe even find yourself a genie. But I would advise against those modes of acquiring longer life. When dealing with higher beings, especially magickally inclined beings trapped in a lamp for all eternity, you have to be careful. To many loop holes for you to fall through. Before you know it you could suffer a fate worse than death itself. Honestly though, what could you do in the face of death? The answer is nothing. Death is part of life. They exist in balance. It is just a door on our journey through this realm. Anyways, enough about death. My name is Mike, I live in British Columbia, Canada. I am in grade 11 right now, and I am going to miss school when it is over. All my friends heading off in different directions. I'm not sure what I want to do with my life yet. When I was a kid I used to want to be a painter, I wanted to make beautiful artworks and set up a small stand in downtown somewhere. Unfortunately I have no talent in drawing or painting. Now, I am getting through high school and I am looking into writing, or photography. They seem to be my cup of tea. What got me started on the whole picture thing? One of my very good friends awoke in me, the passion for photography. I had always been interested in it, but it wasn't until I saw her pictures that I truly thought that maybe I could go out and capture my own moments. And with her encouragement I signed up for a photography course, and lo and behold, I am actually somewhat good at it. Although I still can't compete with her amazing insight and thought when it comes to pictures. Her natural ability constantly astounds me. She truly has a wonderful gift.
