| Intro: | I first took up photography as a teenager, shooting the Smena. Later I continued my photographic work as a sideline venture (shooting landscapes, portraits and Still Life images). For a long time photography was competing with painting and drawing in my life. Until finally it took over several years ago. Photography has become my passion because it has made me visit many places, to meet many wonderful people and experience a beauty of nature in ever changing light. Looking at the lake covered by mist and knowing that I was the only one experiencing this wonder. Beyond the demands of daily life, I have always strived to experience grace, beauty, and harmony in my life. My art is one way I take the time to record and share these experiences. I am instinctually attracted to subjects that convey these qualities. In my work I use composition, form and color to emphasize them. The camera and "digital darkroom" allows me to edit out all distractions, so that I am left with the pure pleasure of the experience.
