I thought I will try to make it a bit brighten. I used Curves in Photoshop. I added two points (in/out): 47/30, 134/215.

I felt I need some more sharpness on the match. I selected it with lasso tool (having feather set to 15 px) and sharpened selected area with 200% 0.4px 2Levels.

Although I like smooth photos I thought I would try to make it even more distinct. In photoshop I used Levels - input 35, 1, 255. And sharping 71% 0.4px 2Levels. How do you find it?

I played with your photo. I hope you don't mind :-)

In photoshop I duplicated layer, selected its opacity mode into overlay and opacity into 87%. Then created adjustement layer (menu -> new adjustement layer -> curves), clicked OK and entered points (in/out): 0/0, 62/30, 113/194.

I think that built in flash usually gives a very flat photos. I tried to achieve some shadows on her face.

- with lasso tool I selected quickly her face, and with ctrl-j created a new layer
- menu -> new adjustements layer -> curves I selected the box 'group with previous layer' and OK
- curves window appears, I entered three points in/out: 85/2, 143/152, 225/255
- selected background layer, menu -> new adjustements layer -> curves, entered three points in/out: 11/0, 64/118, 255/255
- selected layer with her face, menu -> layer -> add layer mask -> reveal all
- with brush tool and black color painted on layer mask - to remove very dark areas from hair, eyes. I adjusted size and opacity of brush accordingly to the size of dark details I wanted to remove.
- on the layer with her face I used also diffuse glow (menu -> filters -> distortions -> diffuse glow) with values grainess: 0, glow amount: 1, Clear amount: 13
- finally - cropped (IMO).

I think that's all I remember I did :-)

I rotated your photo 2.5 deg CW. After that I had to crop it, I regret many details near frame are lost. Regards!

I used Neat Image (www.neatimage.com) to suppress grain. Then, in photoshop, I removed some speckles and darkened a bit with Levels. Regards!

I rotated your photo 2 deg. CW and used NeatImage to subpress noise. I think it looks better now.

I tried to escape from that red I don't like very much.

- But first I used healing tool to correct details on her face.
- duplicated layer, and applied to it Hue/saturation - changing it into sepia (colorize), applied also curves to increase contrast
- changed layer blending mode into 'overlay' and adjusted opacity to achieve balanced view
- resized - I think some photos look really better when smaller, especially close views
- for the bottom layer applied Hue/Saturation with decreased green (that grass in left-top) and red.
- flattened image
- sharpened with 200% 0.4 px 2L.

Regards!
