| Intro: | Hi, ... ..... I am off for home for a month or so to visit with my family.... have a good July everyone!!! S. I have been an active member of Trekearth for nearly two years now and an inactive member here. I have seen some really unique and artistically well done photos on this site and I would like to try some new things that the regulations on Trekearth do not allow for. I am particularly fond of doing portraits and macros and any help or advice for making them better would be greatly appreciated. Your comments and suggestions are welcomed. Shelly For some reason the link to my Trekearth account won't go through, so here it is... My Trekearth account I thought I'd add some things about how I work on my photos here. I use a LOT of different programs. I shoot everything in RAW format. I do all the work on RAW files in RawShooter or Raw Therapee. I use Picasa, Photoshop, Photofiltre and I have several other programs I rarely ever use anymore, but still keep them. I upload to Picasa because I like viewing them there and I do rudimentary cropping and stuff just to see how they'll look. I do most all levels work and USM in Photoshop. I do all final framing and sharpening in Photofiltre and I use NeatImage for noise reduction. I try to reply to all received critiques. If I am not blown away by your most recent shot, I look through your gallery to find one I am blown away by. I don't give negative critiques unless I can do a workshop and make it better. I just pass on by. I will make exceptions in extreme cases... ;)) I moved from my home state of West Virginia to live with my daughter and help with my two grandsons. What did she do?? Got married again and had another. Some days I just haven't the time to write critiques at all and some days I just can't get into the rythym of it to write anything. I am very enthusiastic about things. I love humor and I LOVE photography. I am looking forward to being an active member of this site and thanks in advance for any help or suggestion that will help me get better at it. | |
