I found out that you were at a REALLY hard angle!!!
I thought the BG and behind the flower was really dark or dim, so I added brightness, contrast, saturation, and messed with the levels: After I highlighted just the BG and behind the flower.
I know it doesn't look good at all around the petal, and by your name;
I almost overexposed it with my PP work.
But I was mostly going for the BG. |

(23588) [2008-03-18 15:31:28] | Hi Hans
I thought about what you said and did a very quick workshop. When I assembled the original, I wanted the upward pointing trumpet of the angel and Lester's downward pointing sax in opposite frames. so that was the deciding factor. I rearranged the panels for you and I have to admit, I much prefer the first version, The heavy dark wall to the right of the angel diminishes the composition , I think and the artist now seems more broken up. But that is MY opinion,
What is yours?? |

 Adding more colour | viawia
(3889) [2008-03-18 02:18:17] [2] | I selected the white background and pasted it to a new layer. Then selected a bit of colour from the yellow apple in front (to get colour as well as texture) and used the pattern to fill the white background. That layer was then adjusted to make it more opague (decreased opacity to about 30%.)
Then selected maroon colour from one apple and added a vector line (5mm) on a new layer to the outside border. Converted the vector to a raster layer, selected the line and added an inner bevel
Cut out parts of line that extended over edges of the bowl. Merged all layers and saved as jpg. before upload to WS
Hope you like it! Or at least evaluate it as my personal preference. It was nice playing with your image.

 Convert to B/W, Color Balance | machinelove
(16011) [2008-03-08 06:43:52] [2] | Thanks for allowing me to try this Silke!
I like the way the B/W draws more attention to the background of ripples in the water on the right, and the objects under the water on the left. |
