(534) [2009-10-19 10:39:17] [3] | Hello aK,
here the ws that I mentioned in my critique.
The purpose for me was to find out how a generic workflow will affect it.
Here is what I did:
- in rgb mode added curves adjustment layer to reduce warm red cast a bit, mainly by darkening the red channel in its dark parts. Setting layer to color mode retains the luminosity of original
- flattened image
- applied shadow/highlight command, shadow recovery amount 0, highlight 100/26/30, thus letting the dark parts untouched but recovering details in the very light parts
- duplicated layer and set the duplicate to luminosity mode, this retains color of below and luminosity changes of duplicate
- select only blue channel of duplicate, than apply image: source: merged/red-channel, target is the selected blue
- curves to red channel, make it lighter
- curves to green channel, add more contrast
- flatten image
- once again shadow/highlight with same numbers as above
- convert to cmyk with "edit -> convert to profile"
- sharpen black channel only, usm: 500/1/0
- convert back to rgb with "image -> mode rgb"
- duplicate layer, set duplicate to multiply and restrict the effect of multiply with layer properties "blend if": for gray, only for the darkest parts of the underlying layer thus making the bg completely black with multiply but omitting the lighter fruits
Expecting your feedback, good or bad :)
Best Regards,
Attila |

(2336) [2009-05-27 22:37:05] | Here's my shot at this one....)))
Color correction, remove some red, added some magenta and yellow. then using selective color, I reenforced the red...and darken the greys. Saturation by 20% |

(16617) [2008-01-27 12:28:26] [1] | Hi Alaettin,
I didn't change anything for the tree, nor do the road, I only concentract on the sky, what I did is ...
- Select all the sky with feather 50
- Adjust RGB 80,80,90 just to make them look a bit even
- Unselect all
- Select only particular area that need to be brighten up, e.g the darker cloud that is too obvious with "halo"
- Adjust gamma to match the brightness of the other (sorry, I have done so many selection, adjust gamma, one by one... with different level, I can't remember the details number)
- select only the part with noise, e.g top right hand sky, and apply digital noise removal with 50,50,50, 70, 0
- reselect the sky with feather 50, run adjust gamma again, this time is down to 0.5 so it get back to the darker colours with no "halo".
That's all I did, I hope this is what you want... I know the sky colours might not be what you want.. but I try my best not to lose any details...:D
By the way, I am using Corel Paintshop pro X to do this image, do let me know what you think... :D I hope I pass the test. :-P |
