| Intro: | Update: Sept 2011 BACK TO FLYING........... Got my medical back, so I'll be back to posting shots from around the world!!! April 2011. Ran my half marathon last February, and a sprinkling of 10km races since too. Trying to maintain the fitness but I've been seconded to office work in 'Flight Operations'. Offices are NOT my kind of thing; roll on getting back into my real office!!!! Feb 2011. Thanks for the kind comments regarding my health - all seems to be going well. Am training for a half-marathon in mid February up at RAK or Ras Al Khaimah in long-hand. Getting 10km runs in a couple of times a week and the ticker is ticking!!! Nov 2010 - well, no more flying for a while as I've just been diagnosed with "triple vessel coronary artery disease". In other words, the blood vessels that supply my heart with oxygen have all kinds of rubbish in them and are narrowed. One of them (right coronary artery blocked 90%) has been stented open with an Angioplasty procedure, the other two to be done tomorrow the 14th November. This is good news for me - 'cos I can keep on living and photographing. Flying wise I'm looking at six months 'grounding' and then - God permitting - getting my medical back and then to work again. My second chance basically!!! So, expect to see me on the boards and forums here a while longer :-0 Airline pilot based in Dubai, Arabian Gulf. I have the privilage of flying around the world - and as I love to take photos it works out very well.. Always lots to photograph when I'm on a trip. Having spent a while now here on TL, and also on TE I think it's important for regulars here to be HONEST in their critiques of others- there is a lot of matey back-slapping which doesn't help people to learn and improve... My new website. Not much on it yet but I'm getting there... Also a few shots here at Lensbaby and adding more every week.. Happy snapping folks. | |
