(1097) [2006-07-20 14:50:41] [2] | As I said before, my "technique" to working with Photoshop is more like a haphazard experiment than a consistent system of creating an image. I just like to play with different things, and if it doesn't look right, I did something wrong and do it again differently.
For this one, I increased the contrast using Levels, toyed around with saturation in the blue, yellow and master channels, and used a bit of the burn tool set for exposure of 8%. After all of that, I ran it through NeatImage to clean up the noise, and decided that I didn't like the way the clouds were so burned out. So, I clone-stamped them out (and now thay look like cartoon clouds, but if you actually take the time...)
And, that's about it. The more you play, the more you learn, so keep up the good work. |

 Crop tool - PS CS2 | akula802
(1097) [2006-02-23 23:46:19] | | In photoshop, I just used the crop tool to 1) make the image more 'rectangular' and 2) to eliminate the trees on the left side. Hope you like! Composition and cropping are techniques that every photographer has a different opinion on... |

 Levels Adjustment | akula802
(1097) [2006-02-02 18:30:59] | | All I did was adjust the Levels in Photoshop. This can improve color balance, contrast (the darkness of the shadows and lightness of the highlights) and thus gives a photo a more 'real' look. Hope that helps you out! -Brian |

Levels, dodge and burn | akula802
(1097) [2005-10-22 05:28:37] [1] | This is a wonderful photograph, but I think it could use a bit more contrast.
For this workshop, I adjusted the highlights in "levels" and also used the dodge tool on the woman's face. This is a beautiful woman, and the streaks in her hair stand out a little more now. Since she is obviously the dominant element in this image, I also burned in the background to create even more contrast between her and her surroundings.
I hope you like it!
