(495) [2004-07-10 00:45:14] [2] | | Hi Andy. To have taken such a beautiful picture of a butterfly in the wild is an exploit very few can achieve. The pose, the colours, the details are superb. However the background somewhat distracted me, especially the brown stem on the right. Wondering what cropping could do, I did just that. Purposefully, I did not eliminate the stem entirely otherwise the photo would have ended up square. Also, I slightly decreased the saturation of the greens and lightened them up a bit although the difference is hardly visible. Let me know what you think. Daniel |

(928) [2004-07-05 14:25:36] [3] | | There is quite a lot of shadow detail that can be rescued from your shot, I carried out a quick contrast mask... I'm sure you can do this better if you take your time. Duplicate a layer with everything on, invert it, desaturate it, change the blending mode to 'Overlay', Apply Gaussian Blur (experiment with 5 to 30 radius), and reduce the opacity of that layer. I then flattened the layers and carried out some curves adjustments. |

(847) [2004-05-24 09:22:25] [3] | Hi Andy,
I've tried to redo the NI job.
I've selected the lowerleft blurred section for calibrattion, then performed auto fine tuning.
i think this was a lighter touch on the details...
Oh and I just liked to add a levels adjst/lyr to lower the white point just a little.
Hope you'll find this information useful. Let's discuss the results :)
Best regards,
Garo |

(733) [2004-05-23 16:08:22] | | This is the unedited version, which I probably should have posted.I'm getting to be a bit of a NeatImage addict and I liked the effect it had on the photo.Other than slight cropping no other adjustments have been made to this, the original. |

(842) [2004-05-23 12:29:52] [4] | | The middle flower is the star here, so I wanted to present it in a balder style, where the flower is more in evidence, keeping it though off center. The other flowers look like applauding the star now. |

(49) [2004-04-06 12:26:37] [2] | I liked too much this photos ... great colors. Clever use of the green foliage as background. I just think that there´s too much empty room in this right side of the image ... the retangular format is not the best for this image too. So I cropped the image a little ... note that the almost centralized right flowers is compensated by the non-centralized left flowers.
I also sharpened the image a little. |
