I isolated your subject. Removed the back arm and the lit bit under the elbow. Also burnt some detail out of the shadows to help him blend in a bit better and sharpened his face.

I left the crop as-is because I like un-balanced images. Its my thing...

This is actually a WS of the WS that you did yourself... I felt you lost some of the colors in the sky. I did some noise reduction too.

To get the color in the sky. I made two layers in PS, pasted a copy of your image in each. I fiddled with saturation and contrast levels. Then I made a reveal all mask, and put a gradient at about the tree-line, that hid the adjusted layer below that point. Then I set the blend mode to darken (just so happen to work like that...).

I did noise reduction to both levels. The end. :-D

I just clone stamped some of the annoying dots out, and I decided to experiment with a border. I think it looks nice.

The drop shadow isn't to "gray" its actually to a sepia, so its got a tint to it, as I noticed your photo does. The front for the copyright is "Big Caslon." Hope you like it Jeremy...

It was resized a 'bit' to fit into the 800px wide limit, but only from 850 to 800... so... it shouldn't have hurt sharpness much...

Enjoy...
