| Intro: | Some would argue that as a semi-retired mental health professional I have too much time on my hands, which translates into too much time spent at my computer getting into mischief. That may be true, but when I encounter sites such at TrekEarth and TrekLens I celebrate my Apple Macintosh Cube, my 17" Apple Display CRT monitor and broadband internet hookup. I bring to the board only a modicum of experience behind the lens of a Nikkormat camera that most often was used during trips abroad. Sadly, the camera long ago disappeared and it was only recently that I came into possession of a Sony DSC-S85, a digital camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and 4.1 mega-pixels targeted to the consumer market. I'm still learning how to use it, but my enjoyment of this website will no doubt spur me on. During my sixty plus years on this planet I have found great joy in viewing the finest art and architecture available and believe I have a fairly well trained aesthetic sense which permits me to view photographs with discrimination. I've also enjoyed drawing portraits, which has improved my eye even more. Whether I can translate that into photos of merit is something for others to judge. I know I love being in nature and enjoy greatly playing in Photoshop, so no doubt some of my attempts will appear on this site. To those talented folks who are already here, all glory, praise and honor. Thank you for your wonderful gifts and the pleasure they bring to persons like me. (As a footnote, I live in the San Francisco Bay Area of northern California and will no doubt be posting photos taken in what is surely one of the most beautiful regions on this lovely planet of ours.)
