| Intro: | I have always had a liking for all things outdoors, which started when I was very young when my parents holidayed in Scotland, Wales & Cornwall. The mountains always fascinated & inspired me by their beauty & size. School days brought adventure weekends away at Plas Newydd on Anglesey, where my love of the Welsh Mountains was born. Ever since I first picked up a strange shinny pebble on some obscure beach I have had a very keen interest in Minerals, Geology and Mining History, and have spent the last 30 years or so pursuing this interest. I have visited and explored many of the mining centres of Britain both above and below ground. Photography has always been an interest for me as I have always took snaps of the locations I visit. It was not until I bought myself a quality 35mm SLR camera that I realised this was the hobby for me, where I can combine my outdoor passion with photography. Finding Derbyshirecam and Cornwallcam on the Internet was the inspiration for me setting up Cheshirecam, my own personal website, I purchased my first Digital Camera, the Nikon Coolpix 950, and I was away, and have never looked back. I now use an Olympus Evolt E-500 as my main weapon of choice with a Canon Powershot A80 as a backup, and go anywhere pocket camera. Cheshirecam | |
