Hi Dan!

Great photo, it really drew my attention. The interior was so bright, going with the idea of siesta in a quiet, shaded place and refuge from the bright, hot day outside, I wanted to darken the room a bit...more like your earlier shot "exploring the tomb".

I tried a version that was even darker inside than this, and I think it still looked fine.

Really intriguing shot!

after the critique I had the idea to try something with this interesting photo
I reframed it into square format
it's just a try to see this photo in a different way
and the big frame is surely not everybody's tastes

I cloned the post and the left side. Technically.
No other Adjustments
I Filtered the noise with Neat Image and finally added a simple frame with Photofiltre .
Hope you will like it!
Cheers!

A bit sharpening (by Adobe Photoshop Elements) makes the image even more attractive in my view.

Hello Dan

Here are all the steps in Photoshop that I took for this workshop:

- AutoLevels
- lightened a bit more with curves
- increased saturation slightly
- used the Dodge and Burn tool to bring more detail in the really dark areas (like the boat in the front)
- UnSharpMask

**I think that is everything that I did! I hope you like it!

Dan-
I really like the photo, but I just did some minor stuff. I copied layers for the sky and mountains. I lightened the mountain in it's individual layer and used the eraser on semi-opacity to blend it in. As for the, I darkened it slightly more and increased the saturation. I also increased the saturation moderately for the entire photograph. Thanks again for sharing such a beautiful photo!

I played with Shadows/Highlights to bring out a bit more of the detail in the room and remove some of the glare from the light on the upper left hand corner. I accept that these changes may run totally contrary to what you tried to do here but I wanted to make the experiment anyway. This particular tool has become a favorite and I'm exploring how to use it with different images. You can come to your own conclusion about the usefulness of the exercise and I certainly won't be offended if you dismiss it completely. Thank for the opportunity. Your image is first rate, just as it is.

i did some cropping to eliminate the building, and place it on a black background and centered it. i also did some adjusment (blue and green) on the level to make it brighter. hope you like it.... :)
