| Intro: | I am a 64 yr. old retiree, married with three children and one grandchild. I am a backyard birdwatcher & critter watcher. I feed peanuts to the squirrels, black oil sunflower seed for most of the birds, niger thistle seed for the goldfinches, and sugar water when the hummingbirds come. I like genealogy, photography, dogs, and my grandson. I was in the USAF for eight years & spent time in Turkey, Thailand, Alaska, and Florida. I started out with a 35mm camera and took a lot of slides. My present camera is a Canon S2 IS, and I have a 1.5X multiplier, a mono-pod and a tri-pod. My profile photo is me with a baby squirrel my neighbor & I tried to raise in 1999. No luck though he died after a week or so. Update March 2008 I have been on TL almost 2 years now and it has been a fun time for me. Since before Christmas I have not found the time to return visits from TL members like I should. I find I spend too much of my time on TL and I have projects to get done. I am just a two finger typist so it takes me extra time to type critiques. TL is a little like friends, they are habit forming! There are some great photographers here & wish I could visit them all! I have made a lot of friends and will miss them. Thanks to all who have commented or critiqued my photos, Your words were worth more than any points I have accumulated. Special thanks to my friend Pierre Frigon in Canada who first thought I was any good at all! He introduced me to his friends in Canada, his friend John Tulip in Holland and his Dutch friends, John has become a friend of mine through TL. Thanks to friends in the USA, England and Turkey. And thanks to all from other countries as well! I decided I would quit posting and when I have time will view work from people I have missed the past 4 months. I will try to keep in touch with friends. My wife Nancy views my favorites new posts every day and enjoys your photography. I wanted my last posts to be in honor of her. We have had a great life together, raising our children & now have a grandson to enjoy. Again thanks to all for being a friend and helping me when you could!
