I leveled the horizon at the top. I think you can see now that the houses on the left side of the street are leaning forward and the ones on the right are leaning backward. I think the orginal photo was accurately level. :-) Reid

Gradient Tool

First, I did an Elements 5 "quick fix" to improve the bottom of the image. Then used the gradient tool foreground to transparent. The "reverse" box is checked and the blend mode set to "overlay". I selected the angle to correspond to the angle of the clouds. And in the gradient editor controlled where the effect stopped. Fairly easy actually.

This is the original image. It was taken almost directly into the sun. Since there are no shadows and no background, it seems almost flat. I think it creates an interesting effect worth trying again on other subjects.

Artistic Foil Effect

I used the PSP colored foil option, under artistic effects. I selected a minimum blur - 5, considerable detail - 80, and a color between gold and orange. After tweaking to get it "right", the software did the rest. Reid
