I love old barns like this. I just did two quick things to bring out the wood's texture a little.
- sharpen in PS
- added a very simple black border

- remove noise: luminance 4, colour 1. Sharpness +70% at 1.2 pixels.
- (I left some blurring since minor blurring in the original seemed to add to the mood, and show the rain' visual obstruction)

I didn't tinker with anything else since I really liked how the greens and light captured the feel of the weather.

I wanted to increase the dramatic effect of this photo. Here is what I did:
- Adjusted the levels for increased contrast
- Increased the blue to all areas except the duck
- Used a manual unsharp mask on the duck at 3.2 pixels
- Cropped the picture to put the middle/neck of the duck at roughly the 1/3 marks. I also like leaving open space on the right to show the potential movement of the duck.

This reminded me of a scene at my old home - thanks for the image.

I wanted to make this picture all about that one tree.

I brought the tree out a bit with a minor sharpening and pushed the background back with a small blurring. I then added a bit of blue to the sky and hills. The levels were tweaked a tiny bit too. I was going to crop to put the tree at a 1/3 mark, but it didn't look right.

In the end, your version of this photo is better. But I wanted to see what a less noisy version would look like. It was only after I posted this that I realized that the slight noise adds to the effect you have achieved.

I tried my best to reduce the noise without destroying the mood of this cool picture. NoiseNinja was employed at medium blur reduction and minimal sharpening. I then used a mask is PS to add a bit more sharpness to everything but the sky. Hope you like it.
