| Intro: | Update: December 24, 2007 Life and work have been really overwhelming this winter. I think often of you all and will be around as much as I can. John >>>>>>>>>>> I have been slow in coming over to TL. I have been posting my landscapes to TE for a time now. The pictures I am planning on posting here have more of my heart on my sleeve. In landscape one can hide one’s thoughts behind diffuse symbols and analogies. Please don’t let the nature of my posts restrict your thoughts in critiquing. One of the primary reasons I am posting these images here is to work on developing my skills. My interest in photography stems from hiking. I have a dear son (With me in the picture just after we were drenched in a mountain rain) who has severe autism (non verbal etc.). His main interest/activity is hiking on the weekends. The closest thing I have to a real job is teaching music composition, theory, & technology at the University Level. Feel free to visit my website: mclaird.org On the wall of the projection room of a company specializing in children's films are inscriptions of appreciation. One of these touched me in an extraordinary way. Along with the 'thank you' were the following words, painted, illuminated, by the child author: Once upon a time There was a little boy And he went outside. ~ from the preface of the 2nd edition of "The Genesis of Music" by Harry Partch | |
