The photo is very nice but the light and the colors are dull. Contrast mask technique, brightness/contrast and unsharp mask, gives to this photo more colors!

Cropped a little closer to the two children, then clones out the strap near the top and changed to sepia. Adjusted levels and curves and added a small frame. Hope you like it. Just another way of looking at it.

J'ai coupé la photo un peu, et je me suis servie de l'outil de Tampon de duplication (PS) pour le fond. Ensuite j'ai fait auto-coleurs, le filtre plus net et j'ai fait le milieu de l'image, entre les enfants, plus clair.

I wanted to experiment the Diffuse Glow filter with this 'Nouveau Art':

1. Levels Layer: 0, 0.60, 232
2. USM: 110%, 0.5 px
3. Brightness-Contrast Layer: +15% Contrast
4. Diffuse Glow

Did I go too far?

Step I've used to make the picture a bit sharper with Photoshop:
- Use "High Pass Sharpening" technique from www.luminous-landscape.com.

- Use UnSharp Mask filter with the following values 400%/0,5/1

Added an Unsharp mask and did some ccollour correction using Colour balance and selective colour. Finnaly bosted the contrast a bit. Hope it helps on the way Cristina.

I tried to put the yellow flower more out of center, as suggested, by cropping the image. I think I succeeded quite well.
