 B&W with more contrast | k-2
(2637) [2008-08-16 08:48:33] | Several comments identified that the B&W version was lacking contrast. Some others thought the scene would be better without the topmost cloud.
I've tried to address those issues here. Please let me know what you think. |

 B/W conversion | HeadlessGuy
(931) [2008-07-17 19:08:02] [2] | First I tried to correct the colour cast on the original by using CSpringer Digital Grey Card action for Photoshop.
I then used a B/W adjustment filter and selected the red filter preset (thanks for the tip k-2 :))
Finally I used CSpringer Paint With Light action for Photoshop to try and bring out a little more shadow detail and try to paint a light path created by the light formation.
Hope you like it.
Cheers,
Jens |

 Shadow/highlight + velvia vision | Dpbours
(2072) [2008-04-06 05:24:02] | I worked most in shadow/highlight option. But please look further than the standard screen. Open the advanced options dialog box!!
Shadows, amount 24%, 73% tonal width, 30 pix radius
Highlights, 26%, 89% tonal width, 30 pix radius
Color correction adjustment +33
Midtone contrast +20
black clipping 2%
White clipping 4%
Then some Velvia Vision plugin, to just punch up the dynamic range and a bit of colour contrast.
Hope you like it! |

 Velvia Vision | Dpbours
(2072) [2008-04-04 03:25:51] [1] | I used the Velvia Vision plugin to add dynamic range. It balances the light, without touching the whites and blacks, but the range in between. This makes the foreground shadow a bit lighter.
Then some sun added with an enhancement in the colour toning and some contrast in the colour edges. Hope you like it! |
