| Intro: | Good day to everyone. I live and work in Pretoria, South Africa. I'm married and have two children. My occupation is Mechanical Engineering (for all my sins), specifically specializing in water supply. I am a very keen amateur photographer and my love for photography is growing daily. I am collecting older cameras and equipment (from the 70's and 80's) which I believe is better in every way than the autofocus, bells and whistles wizardry of nowadays. I read a lot and naturally about photography. I love reading the books of Freeman Patterson which are teaching me to "see" and encouraging me to experiment. Although I own and love to use a digital camera (it suits the budget nicely) I prefer film. Call me a dinasaur if you like... My favourite cameras (from my collection) are the Olympus XA which I can carry in my shirt pocket and of course my trusted old Canon which is 22 years old and still doing it's work. I recently started buying Nikon equipment and I just bought an FM2n with motordrive in mint condition and a fantastic Sigma 90mm f/2.8 macro lens. | |
