| Intro: | When I was 18 I went on a year's student exchange to Australia. Unlike in Sweden, the kids in Australian highschool where allowed to choose their own subjects to study. This allowed me the luxury of choosing amongst such fun subjects as Outdoor education, Student drivers education and photograpy. Equipped with a Nikon F-301 with a fixed 50mm lens I started learning the basics of photography and darkroom techniques. After a great year in Darwin, Australia, with many cool pictures in my luggage, I retuned home to Sweden and unfortunately forgot about photography for any use other than vacation documentation for many years. Last year however, I bought a small digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix 3100. The opportunity to see your picture right away, the ability to edit them on the computer and to take as many pictures as you like for no extra cost where all factors that helped revive my interest for photography. During the year I had my small camera I took 2000 pictures, which is probably more than I have taken during the rest of my life. Now I have taken the step up and bought a digital SLR, and photography is something that I consider a real hobby. I hope to share some of it with you here and on TrekEarth, to learn alot from you all, and maybe teach/inspire some of you in some way. | |
