i flipped the image so i could mirror clone in the tip of the flipper. then carefully cloned out the dark areas zooming in and using a small brush set at 100%. i set a beveled edge where i might have cropped the image.

Apply image & adjustment layers.

Applied red channel to separate layer and set to Luminosity to darken the sky & water. Used blend if to omit the green forgound. applined green channel the same way to lighten the greens. Adjusted satureation a tad, straighten horizon & cropped.
