| Intro: | Welcome to my gallery @ TrekLens.com NEWS: 28.04.2008 New Canon EOS 40D BODY coming in tomorrow :) 350D goes out on an auction. 16.04.2008 Kenko Teleplus PRO 300 DG extender 1.4x arrived... ...as well as a Case Logic SLRA3 tele-lens carry case. I highly recommend it to everyone who like to photograph around without carrying a heavy load in the main photo bag - just switch lenses in a nick of time. Big enough to fit the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM lens. 10.04.2008 Upgraded to Canon 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM And what's great about it, is that filters and the tripod mount ring from the non IS version fit this one as well, so those I keep. 11.01.2008 New Sigma 20-40mm lens arrives. All together with the top Hoya UV Super HMC Pro1 filter. 18.02.2008 Upgraded to Canon 430ex flashgun. PREFACE I would like to thank all of you, especially David and John and all the other TL friends, who have contributed to my work here, purely by providing me with ideas, tips and advice. It's the comments and critiques that you leave in my gallery help me improve my skills, and prepare my mind for a more "advanced photographic abstraction" - yes, that's what I would like to call it ;-) Inspired by: Tomasz Tomaszewski - a great contributor to the National Geographic magazine. Wieslaw Czerniawski And now to the main story... My first own camera was a Minolta RIVA Zoom 75w. That one lasted me for a good couple of years before getting my first digital 1.3mb pixel Olympus C-1. C-1 was a bit oldish, limited in functionality and capabilities, and made less attractive photos. Had to go for something better. Could not afford a DSLR. Since autumn 2005 I was a happy owner of Fuji S5500. With all the accessories it made a great semi-SLR (one call it a hybrid) to explore more advanced photography techniques. Digital Photography Peview has helped me with the (S5500) purchase decision. I would highly recommend this web site, as it contains all the information you might need with your decisions and comparisons between different models or even brands. My C-1 still makes a great companion for more extreme photography such as mountain-biking and nasty weather conditions, where I wouldn't want to spoil S5500 or any other DSLR that I currently own. Now the C-1 mainly is being used by my parents at their holidays that they go to from time to time. August 2006 - Canon EOS 350D KIT arrives into my hands. Bought it just before leaving for holidays. It was a full 2 weeks of taking photos, and testing Canon's capabilities, and most of all learning how to use a proper dSLR. Reason of change? My skills have improved a lot since a year ago. Now skills require a better and faster camera. What comes next? A full list of accessories, lenses, filters, and all the rest :), you name it... Autumn 2007 - thought of changing the BODY, to 30D, but I was well advised to change my lenses rather than the BODY itself, and have it with low cost and quality lenses. Sold my Tamron tele-lens and got a new gear, Canon 70-200mm L-series with f/4, could not afford f/2.8 one, maybe in the future. Wide angle and tele lens have been replaced many times - a full list of lenses I've had is at the very bottom. 50mm lens comes in to my list now, a great lens for general outdoor photo shooting, makes great close up shots (almost like macro shots), and w/o the need of a flashgun. Hope you will enjoy your visit here @ my gallery :-) Thomas Loba (aka Tomasz Loba) Lothom (ex. www.applesystem.co.uk/lothom.co.uk domain in case you wondered why that signature on some of my photographs).
