Dear Marie, the Canadian flag on the table (and in one of the dancers' hair) is because this was a Danish-Canadian wedding party. It is pure coincidence that you don't see any Danish flags around. And I believe Closing Time was first published on The Future in 1992, whereas Alexandre Leaving first appeared on Ten New Songs in 2001. But maybe you have a compilation album with both of these great songs on(IMO the other great song on The Future was Democracy (is coming to the USA), and the other great song on Ten New Songs was A Thousand Kisses Deep).
Anyway, There are so many great images in Cohen's songs. If I were a better photographer I would start trying to show all those images as images. Maybe I will anyway.
