I have a slide screwed into the tripod thread on the bottom of my camera and I take one photo and then slide it a little over to the right to get two photos of the same subject with a little different view point just like the human eyes do. If it is a macro 3D, then I only have to move it a little, if 6 feet or more away, then I move the camera about the distance between our eyes. Then I get it into the computer and use "Photo 3D" software to move them around to choose the "center point" where front and back begin and create the 3D photo.
