It turned out to be not as sharp as I had hoped, though still not bad for $100. I desperately needed something wider and sharper than the 28-90 I had been using from my film Rebel, and this 18-55 is a definite improvement. The AF works surprisingly well in low light, and it focuses quickly and quietly. All in all, I am quite satisfied, but I am still waiting for the day I can pick up a 17-35 f2.8 :-P United States
