The complete lack of detail on the ground, is due to the complete lack of light, after the sun had set. There was no major pp work done on the sky. Only some despeckling, & slight burning in of the highlights.
There is a sheer drop of 200 metres from the lookout, & a different vantage point is not possible. Climbing a tree for a different pov, is an unsafe option, I was not prepared to risk, in darkness. Imho, the arching silhouettes of the trees add depth.
