Thanks for your comments about my photo. The cuatro only has four strings (thus the name in Spanish) aven though there appear to be 6 keys. There are really only 4 keys there. The instrument is the national instrument of Venezuela and is a traditional instrument here. It is a little larger than a ukelele, about 2-1/2 feet long. The bar is wide in proportion but still not too wide. The cuatro is relatively inexpensive and therefore very popular in Venezuela. This one only cost about $50 US. It is possible to get one for practice for about $30 or an expensive one for about $150. Thanks for your interest. |
