thank you for the comment! as for the details, i normally never take detail notes. i think it interupts my train of thought (or creativity). The steps are as follows from what i remember:
in the RGB layers, examined each layer and selected the one which was closest to what I had in mind. then i changed the image mode from RGB to Grayscale so other layers were removed then i converted the mode back to RGB. used levels to increase the contrast and lighten up the sky.. lightened up the entire image using curve.. used one of "nic color efex pro 2.0" (sorry I don't remember which on exactly) to add the blueish tone.. used USM to sharppen. i hope this helps..
