Actually in this shot, it is what it is. I think I added a little blue to the colour balance but that was all. The plants in the distance were really like that, and anybody else with a camera would have captured the same!
My own experience now is that "conditions" - the light available and the way it hits your scene - are as important as anything the photographer can do, and the best photos on TL are ones where the photographer has simply waited for the right conditions to occur.
In this case we had to get out of bed at 5:30am on a zero-degree morning to get these shots, so you see what I mean ...
