Thanks for the critique - to be honest I didn't even think of using a smaller aperture, but I imagine it would have caused confusion if both images were perfectly sharp.
Skin tones aren't easy to master on the Lumix, particularly in low(ish) light - it's my greatest achievement in portraits thus far! Haha.
