My favorite Scotsman !
I am glad to have a fan (^_^). What is my job exactly . Well I work in the shipping industry ( Surprised ? ). I studied and sailed to become a navigating officer in the merchant marine between 1976-1980 . I worked as a navigating officer from 1980-1986 sailing most of the time overseas during that period ( Yippeee ! ). In the summer we were going in the canadian Artic , were we had ice like this !!! However in the winter we were heading to South America and the West Indies..... When my second son was born, I started to work ashore as a Marine Agent . beside one year working at a container terminal in Montreal, I have been doing that since then.
Basically , we are taking care of ships visiting our ports. We look after all the needs of the vessels, operators, charteters , importers or exporters, depending on our appointment terms. It is very challenging and rewarding. As I am dealing with crews, ship owners and operators from all over the world.
After 31 years on ships , and on the docks , I still have the same passion. I could post a shot daily on this theme, but I also like to share images of other subjects that I affectionnate . Travelling , and car racing are others that I affectionate a lot (^_^). Treklens gave me a great opportunity to meet new friends, and share my apssions.
Thanks for your kind words. And stay tuned , much more to come.
I am sorry I am not able to reply to members as much as I would like, but I do other stuff on my PC even at home. You probably noted , I visit the site often, but I do not have much time to write every time.
Martine , ( my lovely wife ) is still waiting after me to complete works on our last vacation in Cuba, in April 2005 ..... I too hooked on TL.... LOL !
Cheers!
