| The first time I tried doing this I was at an Indy car race and they were going much faster than these guys. But when you pan a shot with these cars even though they are going slower you can't even tell. I used a sutter speed between 1/30 and 1/60, with 1/50 and 1/60 being the best. If you use a shutter speed faster than that you lose a lot of the motion blur. So I put the camera on shutter priority or aperature priority and got the sutter to the speed I wanted (using iso 400) and shot away. As for focusing I used auto focus, I panned with the car and when the car got to the area I liked, I hit auto focus on the part of the car I wanted focus and shot away. It took a couple of shots to get it down but after that it was easy. If you have any more questions I'd be happy to answer them. |
