Well I'm kinda shy taking photos in public, and that really does limit my confidence in taking candid portraits or other kinds of street shots - hence the posed portraits!
I'm glad you enjoyed this one. You're right, I should have composed it differently - or at least cropped it more from the left - I could make excuses about it being really cold and very early in the morning but ... they'd just be excuses.
