I am happy that you know something about sikhs. This building is not mere concrete building but a light house and great inspiration for us and for all. This building sits infront of The Golden Temple, which is a symbol of Unity and universal brotherhood, because it has four gates on four sides for all people coming from 4 (EWNS) directions of the universe.
Once upon Rabindra Nath Tagore (Winner of the 1913 Nobel Prize in Literature) said in the "WORLD PEACE SUMMIT" that if World want peace, everyone should follow the principals of Sikhism i.e. SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI (HOLY BOOK OF SIKHS, Physical form of Living Guru (GOD) of Sikhs(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sri_Guru_Granth_Sahib))
On Discovery many things are manipulated to suit the majorities and leaders. Sikhs fought for freedom and still fighting on the borders. and we are very proud to be sikhs. We respect all, but others dont (This is more prevelent in India). This building was destroyed completly in 1984. This was not for the first time that it was grounded.
But this is again standing still against all odds, with more and more proud.
