Chuckle...I hope you didn't scratch too hard:) I think I overdid the saturation in this practice attempt, if not other steps as well. I was following someone else's explanation (can't remember where I found that!) and hadn't researched other sources much. Here's one I found eventually: http://thephotofinishes.com/effectOrton.htm. Your source was even clearer.
The untouched original is now posted in a workshop. I think "more subtle" is better for the Orton style in the future:)
