I think your version leads perfectly well to the target you wanted to achieve - I actually took 3 similar shots of this column, among them one was arranged in a similar way as yours :) i.e. without that lady (btw she's my wife) in BG and generally much tighter crop; here my aim was a little different: I wanted to show both: the stone and a blurred silhouette; thanks for your contribution anyway :)
