Thank you, Les, for your kind remarks yet again.
Like yourself, I've always hankered after a Bristol - certainly a 2-litre and probably a 403. Not the 406, 2.2 litre which, I think, was not quite the same, and not the original 400 which was all steel. I always thought the 403 was the nicest of them all. Years ago, I avidly devoured books and articles by L.J.K. Setright, that wonderful motoring guru, about the Bristols and still have many of the books and articles today. Still, I shall just have to dream and spend my time playing with my old 1935 Austin 10 - you can see an old picture of me with her on my intro page - I must get around to writing something there!
Still, Les, I'm pleased that you like this picture. The Museum of Flight in East Lothian is well worth a visit.
Kind Regards,
John. |
