Hey there Dennis,
In fact the color of the mud was even a bit darker and it really is this grey...it's really weird to see the big bubbles splash open and make these funny scupltures.
So... I didn't convert this to B/W...
The fact that it's not totally sharp is caused by the steam that constantly caused the lens to try and focus...
All in all quite a difficult subject to take a real good shot of...
