Hi Vincent - thx for the critique, much appreciated! No, it's not an "L" series but i guess it qualifies as a prime. My understanding is that primes are generally of very good quality - the other one I have is a 100mm f2.8 macro - it's a great lens for portraits, very sharp...but again, not "L" series.
I was positioned right by the water, so no-one could really walk between me and the fountains. A couple of people wandered through them, but the 30-second exposure rendered them invisible :-)
