I can attest, or could that day, to the crashing of the waves; the sound was like thunder, indeed, but the water, as I said, was very chilly and quite a shock to get hit with from behind. ;)
Maine's a great place, we used to go a lot in the Summer, a place called Bridgton-about 40 miles East of Portland-and stay in a cabin on a lake. It was great.
Winter's, yeah, no so much. ;0)
Glad you like the shot, it was quite a day indeed. I was happy it was the little point and shoot given the volume of water that drenched me, but glad that it survived the deal too.
