I did actually look at that little line of blue on the left and think "I should crop that out." So I tried it, but I felt the result left something to be desired. The picture kind of needs the blue to "anchor" it on the left had side. Besides, I didn't like the look of the blue branches sticking up the middle with space on either side.
If I could have moved the view to the right so that the other blue branches would have been at the left edge of the photo, I would have, but there wasn't much more to the right-hand side and the little that was there was visually distracting.
I could still have done it if I wanted a square photo, but I wanted to retain a somewhat flag-like shape. I STILL could have done it, and retained the ratio of height to length, if I cropped the left side and then brought the bottom up or the top down, but then I lost certain elements of the graffiti that I liked and the image didn't feel spacious enough.
So while this is admittedly imperfect, I ended up liking it the best.
Thanks for the constructive criticism, though. I always like hearing honest critique... it's how I learn.
