gok, but part of it has been the accumulation of debris and the fact taht it is now solid ground rather thn water indeed this was the old harbour, the new is only some 400 yards further to the left nowadays
go see it it is a beautiful city and the capital of Romanic achiecture, if you get a chance
also food is spectacular (my poor diet....)
