Hi Karin...
Soooo cool that you are going to Iceland! I asure you that it 's absolutely worth your while!!
On the field of photography I have one very important tip for you: if you don't have one yet, buy a gradient Neutral Density filter.
Half of the filter is grey, the other half is clear.
I have used that filter almost every day!!! The sky in Iceland can be very clear and bright and on such days you most certainly need that filter, specially because the soil is dark, in most places almost black (lava).
And one additional tip: bring enough memory space to store your pictures! I have taken over 4500 pics (in many places I took more than one picture with different exposures, because the light in Iceland can be very, very difficult).
Last but not least I want to wish you the trip of your life!!!
Enjoy the country, and keep in mind: In Iceland you can sit and wait for the weather to change. It never rains very long in Iceland, but there is always a lot of wind.
When the sun is out, use a strong sunblock!!! you'll get sunburn in just a few minutes.
oh and... please enjoy your stay there!!! or did I already mention that?
;-)
Have fun!!!
Cheers,
