Yeah, I was sitting on the ground when I took this but I did put the camera right on the ground for this shot. I do that a lot and sometimes it actually works. :)
You have to draw an imaginary line from the lens to the subject to try to get it correct.
Sitting on the ground a lot of times provides an equally good low POV but you have more control since you can actually look through your view finder.
